Schucker Sensei

Sensei Donn Schucker

Donn Schucker Sensei is the president and head instructor of the Yata No Kagami Yudanshakai in St. Louis, Missouri. Schucker Sensei began his training in the martial arts in 1964 with his father, and in 1969 began the study of Judo. During his competitive career, Sensei won many awards and trophies at the local and regional level. After three decades of practice, Sensei was awarded the rank of shichidan (7th degree) by Phil Porter in 2001.

Shortly after his introduction to judo, Sensei began the study of Aiki-jujutsu and then Jujitsu. These martial arts offered a realistic combat approach to the martial arts that was somewhat neglected in the Judo dojo that stressed mainly the competitive aspect of the martial arts. Sensei was promoted to the rank of hachidan (8th degree) in 2001 and the rank of hachidan in Aiki-jujitsu in 2003.

Schucker Sensei is well versed in Judo, Jujitsu, and Aiki-Jujitsu as well as several other Arts. At the time of this writing he has been studying and teaching the Martial Arts for over forty years. Barry Sensei has been honored to be taken on as a student by him. In addition to Schucker Sensei's high technical ability, he is also one of the most humble, knowledgeable, and respectful Martial Artists there is.
